What do custom homes in De Luz, Temecula look like inside?
De Luz is Temecula's all-custom estate pocket, and this hilltop property shows the range: two primary suites, 270-degree views, and a fully enclosed indoor pool under ten skylights.

Most of what gets built in Temecula follows a plan. Tract neighborhoods have elevations, option packages, and a handful of floor plans repeated across a few hundred lots. De Luz does not work that way. It is the corner of Temecula where the lots are large, the roads climb, and every house was drawn for the person who built it.
That makes touring De Luz a different exercise than touring a subdivision. You are not comparing Plan 2 to Plan 3. You are looking at one owner's specific set of decisions and deciding whether those decisions happen to match yours. This estate is a good example, because one decision dominates everything else in the house.
The Indoor Pool Is the Organizing Idea
Walk through the double front doors and the pool is the first thing you see. Not a window onto a backyard pool — the actual pool, fully enclosed, inside the footprint of the house. Ten skylights run the length of the enclosure, which is doing real work: the water was warm when Anthony checked it, heated in part by sun coming straight through the glass above.
Anthony estimated the pool at roughly Olympic proportions, somewhere around 25 meters across. Whether or not it measures out exactly, the point stands — this is a lap-length pool with a roof over it, and the floor plan is built around it rather than beside it. The first primary suite opens directly onto the pool enclosure. So does the kitchen.
Enclosed pools are rare in Southwest Riverside County inventory. If you have been searching Temecula homes with pools and filtering for something you can use in January as easily as July, this is the kind of property that almost never shows up in a standard search.
Two Primary Suites, Neither One Obviously Better
The house functions as a single story, and it carries two primary suites. One is larger and reads as the main suite — private fireplace, wall-to-wall windows, and the bigger bathroom footprint. The other has the better-finished bath in Anthony's read, vaulted ceilings, and views that run uninterrupted.
The larger suite also has the smaller closet, which is the sort of detail you only catch walking it in person. Anthony's honest take on camera was that you end up choosing between the two based on which view you want to wake up to, not on which one is nicer.
Two full primary suites in one single-level house is a genuinely useful configuration — long-term guests, a second work setup, or simply a household that wants separation without stairs. It is also hard to find on purpose, because almost nobody builds it twice.
A Kitchen Scaled to the House
Anthony's line on camera was that if a home runs over 7,000 square feet, the kitchen had better be big. This one is. The property is fully electric, with a KitchenAid dishwasher in place and both the microwave and oven replaced within the last couple of years. There is no refrigerator currently installed.
There is a prep sink plus a main sink positioned to look straight out at the hills, and the kitchen opens directly into the pool enclosure — so the room that usually anchors a house here anchors the pool too.
The Views, and the Patio That Faces Them
The lot sits high. Most of the acreage is actually out in front, dropping away toward a driveway you can barely pick out from the house. The result is a 270-degree outlook with no neighbor in the frame — Anthony estimated roughly three-quarters of a mile to the nearest home.
The covered patio is on the front of the house rather than the back, which is backwards from how most buyers expect to use a yard. It is also, as Anthony pointed out, where the better sunsets are. That is a very De Luz trade: the house follows the topography instead of the convention.
Bonus Space, Storage, and the Detached Garage
Below the main level there is a flexible room that previously held a hot tub. Anthony's read was a game room — bar setup, pool table, and the same view through the windows. There is a second door from that level straight back out to the front yard.
Elsewhere: a Jack-and-Jill bath between two bedrooms, several additional guest bedrooms and baths, walk-in closets, a laundry room beside the main suite, and storage throughout. One closet houses the water heater in a space that could convert to a sauna if the heater were relocated. The detached four-car garage was locked from the inside during filming, so it did not make the tour.
What This Says About De Luz Inventory
De Luz turnover is slow and the homes are not comparable to each other the way tract homes are. Pricing a custom estate on acreage takes a different approach than pricing a production home in a Temecula neighborhood — there is no identical sale down the street to anchor to.
If you are looking at acreage properties in Temecula, that is the practical thing to plan for. The right property may sit on the market quietly for months because the buyer pool for a 7,000-square-foot estate with an indoor pool is small — and then move quickly once the right buyer finally sees it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where is De Luz, and how far is it from the rest of Temecula?
De Luz sits on the western side of Temecula, in the hills above the valley floor. It is close enough to reach the city quickly while sitting well outside the tract-home grid, which is the trade most De Luz buyers are after.
Are indoor pools common in Temecula homes?
No. Enclosed indoor pools are unusual across Temecula, Murrieta, and Southwest Riverside County generally. Most pool homes here are open-air backyard pools, which is why a fully enclosed, skylit pool like this one stands out in the inventory.
Do custom homes in De Luz hold value differently than tract homes?
They behave differently. Custom estates on acreage have fewer direct comparables, so valuation depends more on land, views, and build quality than on recent sales of the same floor plan. Expect longer marketing times and more negotiation on both sides.
